WhatsApp link generator with pre-set message
A link that opens the conversation with the message already written

Everything is computed in your browser. Nothing is stored.
Plenty of customers would rather write than call, and WhatsApp is often the app already open on their phone. A wa.me link opens the conversation straight to your number, with a starting message you choose. That removes the two usual sticking points: finding the number, then working out what to say. The link works on mobile and on the web version alike.
How to use it
How it works
Enter your number
In international format, dialling code included, without spaces or a plus sign. The tool normalises what you type.
Write the opening message
A sentence that sets the context, something like "Hello, I would like to book a table for". The customer completes it and sends.
Copy or download
The link goes in a website button, an email signature or a social profile bio. A QR code can also be generated from it.
Worth knowing
Four things to keep in mind
The pre-set message doubles as tracking
A different opening text per source page tells you where the enquiry came from without any tracking tool. "From the pricing page" at the end of the message is enough.
Do not put a plus in the number
The wa.me address only accepts digits, country code included. A plus sign or a space breaks the link silently: it opens WhatsApp with no recipient.
Say that you answer on WhatsApp
A WhatsApp button on a site with no mention of hours creates an expectation of an instant reply. One line such as "reply within 24h on weekdays" avoids the disappointment.
A business account changes the display
WhatsApp Business shows the company name, a description and opening hours, where a personal account shows only a number. It is free and takes a few minutes to switch.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
No, that is the whole point of the link. The conversation opens directly, without going through their contacts, even if the number is unknown to their phone.
Yes, it hands over to WhatsApp Web or the desktop app if it is installed. The user has to have paired their phone beforehand.
Yes, they are encoded in the link. Be careful though: an over-long pre-set message puts people off, two lines are almost always enough.
Both work and lead to the same place. wa.me is shorter, which matters inside an SMS or on printed material.
